This page will be for your well-being. It will have books that make you a better person and help you grow. Note this, I am a Christian and I will be including either devotional books or other Christian books that I find meaningful.
by Sarah Young
I am currently going through this book with my family and we love it. It's a good little book to do a quick devotion after dinner with.
It has a message everyday of the year along with a suggested scripture reading like most devotionals do. But this book is small, maybe about 6 inches tall, 3.5 wide and an inch think, so it's good to sit on the coffee table or on the nightstand.
Ten Powerful Phrases for Positive People
by Rich DeVos
I had the privilege of getting to hear Rich DeVos speak about this book and tell our audience how these ten positive phrases got him through his life.
To wet your feet a bit, he uses phrases like "I'm proud of you" and "I believe in you" to help other individuals to overcome differences, build relationships, instill confidence and change attitudes
This is a fantastic book, you will not regret reading it!
90 Minutes in Heaven
by Don Piper with Cecil Murphey
This book is a story written by a pastor who experienced a crash that killed him, brought him to heaven and back. When this came out, I did not believe it. I thought it was just guy looking for his fifteen minutes. But as I read it more and more, I began to realize that God had worked a miracle in this man's life.
Reading on, you can see how this man's faith was tested. For a long time he was a moody and mad person. Mad at God for doing this to him. He then had an epiphany and changed his ways, making a point to tell people what happened to him and how they should appreciate what they have before it's gone. This is a book that should be read if you want to read a good testimony of what God can do.
Mistaken Identity
by Don & Susie Van Ryn and
Newell, Colleen & Whitney Cerak
Five lives were lost in a Taylor University van with one being rushed to the hospital. The Van Ryn family hung to their faith as they hoped their daughter would recover.
As family, friends, church members and many others pass through and wished well, the recovery was slow-moving. But then the occupational therapist said "Okay, Laura, I would like you to write your name for me."
W-H-I-T-N-E-Y.
A great testimony of great faith that was in the national eye for a long time. I also had the opportunity to hear the sisters account of the whole situation, just a great story.
