Biography's, Autobiography's and Memoirs:
Well, he was one interesting man for sure. When I first started reading this book it was very difficult. He is not an easy man to read about. His tantrums and childish behavior was too much for me. But I took a break from it, read another book, then I picked it up again. Turns out I was almost to the point in the book where there is a major transition in his personality and behavior. He went through a time of failure, not hugely, but still failure. It humbled him and gave him a dose of reality. After that, I could not put this down.
He is a fascinating man who had a lot of things you had to deal with. But that's the thing with geniuses, they all have that "something" that drives you nuts. This book is exceptionally well-written and definitely worth reading.
Decision Points by George W. Bush
This is one of the best books I have ever read, George Bush does an excellent job telling the stories of his childhood, his youth and his presidency.
He tells the story of how his little sister Robin, of whom he barely speaks, died of Leukemia when she was three. How he was called out of class, had to wait by the front of the school for his parents and how when he in the car, they told him she died. That was the first time and only time he ever saw his parents cry, but he didn't understand why. He also stories of his youth, some bad choices he made and how he made it right with himself and God.
He had one of the hardest jobs in the world, but he went through the whole two terms confident and classy. That will be remembered as one of the best things of his time in office.
Bossypants by Tina Fey
First off, this is one of the funniest books I have ever read. I read it on a plane ride home from Florida and I was laughing the whole way. In this book Tina Fey gives us about her. She talks about the scar she got on her face as a child (which she never really talks about), her first gynecology appointment (hilarious), her rise in the comedy scene (eye-opening), how much she hates photo shoots (which you will understand soon enough) and how much she loves Oprah (slight obsession there).

This book truly is interesting as it is funny, I hope you enjoy it. It also includes some pretty awesome pictures of young Tina scattered throughout.
The quotes on the back of this book are hilarious, here are some of them."Totally worth it" - Trees and "I hope that's not really the cover. That's really going to hurt sales." - Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey
The Woman I Was Born To Be: My Story by Susan Boyle
I am currently reading Susan Boyle's The Woman I Was Born To Be: My Story. I saw it while I was walking through Schuler Books and I picked it up for my mom as a gift. She ended up not getting around to read it and I didn't want it to go to waste, so I picked it up. It has turned out to be a nice story that I have quite enjoyed reading. It covers everything from her childhood, to winning Britain's Got Talent to where she is now. It's even better if you read it in your head in her Scottish accent!

This book also includes pictures from her childhood, funny stories from her school days, information about her health, and stories about her family; especially her mother to whom she was extremely close. This is a good book for you if you want to read about a person who was not a celebrity for most of her life, but was then thrust into the spotlight and had to adjust to it.

Audition by Barbara Walters
One of the most successful women in the media world, I was surprised I found this book in the clearance bin at Office Max in 2011. But nevertheless, a great book in my opinion.
This woman has literally been interviewing people since 1961. During that time she accumulated an impressive list of big-name people including President Bill Clinton, Halle Berry, Farrah Fawcett, Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, Mohamed Ali, John Kennedy and the list goes on.
This book includes her professional life and never-heard details about that, but she also includes very personal stories from her private life as well. She is a very intriguing woman with an excellent story to tell, worth the read. Get your hands on this book as soon as you can.
No Excuses by Kyle Maynard
This is a story of a young man who is a congenital amputee who became a champion in wrestling and life. As seen on Oprah and Larry King Live.
Being amputated at his knees and elbows has been a hurdle for Kyle, but has never stopped him from becoming a champion. He has learned to live a full and active life. He is an excellent student, has impeccable handwriting and can type fifty words a minute.
A big competitor, he was determined to succeed as an athlete. Through his wrestling he was able to invent two new moves, the "jawbreaker" and "buzz saw." In 2005, he broke the world record for the modified bench press by lifting 360 pounds, three time his body weight. The stories surrounding him are incredible and inspiring, read this book to put your life in perspective.

Faith-Based:
The Circle Trilogy: Black, Red, White by Ted Dekker
The story of Thomas Hunter, a normal guy who is suddenly thrust into the fight between two sides in two different realities.
In one, he is Thomas who can help save billions of lives in the world because of terrorists and their plans to control the planet. In the other, he is a battle-scarred general commanding armies against rival tribes.
He only has days to save his family, friends and co-workers. The fates of both worlds rest in his hands and his unique ability. Thomas and his circles must decide who they can trust and who they can't.
Neither of the books before can prepare him for the forces he is aligned against in the third. A great series, read if you have not had the opportunity!
Blink by Ted Dekker
Seth Borders is taken on the ride of the ride of his life in this novel. But Seth is not just your average college student, he has one of the highest IQ's in the world and he is now able to see multiple potential futures.

Seth Borders is taken on the ride of the ride of his life in this novel. But Seth is not just your average college student, he has one of the highest IQ's in the world and he is now able to see multiple potential futures.
Adjusting to this new-found power, he runs into the beautiful Miriam, the Saudi Arabian princess who has ran away from her veil to escape an arranged marriage. Their lives collide and they are forced to run together from the unstoppable force that wants to kidnap or even kill Miriam.
Seth's ability helps get them out of multiple situations, but with no sleep and hit men steps behind, escape becomes impossible.
The back and forth between the two of these cultures in this book is fantastic. The chase going across the world from Saudi Arabia to the back roads of America is captivating. The issues addressed are relevant as well; a bonus. An excellent read, pick it up!
The Heavenly Man is an intense dramatic story of how God took a young boy from a village in the Henan Province and used him mightily to preach the gospel to terrible opposition.
One of China's house church leaders, Brother Yun has suffered prolonged torture and imprisonment for his faith. His account challenges any nice stories about the situation in China. The fact that religious prosecution still happens is a reality for millions.
And instead of focusing on the terrible circumstances of which he faced, he decides to focus on the beauty and character of Jesus. This mesmerizing book will cause you to be more acute to the miracles working in your life.
Beyond Betrayal by Carolyn Koons
The story of this woman is truly inspiring, and it also had me turning my pages until the very end of the book. This book makes you want to reach out to the person in need you see in your community.
Carolyn was raised in a family where her family were alcoholics, drug addicts, sex addicts and all kinds of abusive. She was hated by her father, tolerated by her mother and a not cared about by her brothers.
She was really into a bad crowd when one day, she went to a church. There, she was invited to a service where she really did not want to go. She wanted to never go back again, but pretty soon she was back in church. Then before she knew, she gave her heart to Jesus and was trying to make change in her life. Battling difficulties with her family and herself, it is a deeply personal story that ends beautifully.
